Krypton FXG50
A thermal imaging attachment, also known as a thermal clip-on, adds thermal imaging capability to a compatible daytime riflescope. It helps hunters detect, identify, and aim at game in darkness and difficult weather conditions while retaining their familiar daytime optic and reticle.
Unlike a dedicated thermal riflescope, a thermal clip-on mounts in front of the existing optic. This allows hunters to switch between conventional daytime use and thermal imaging without replacing their primary riflescope.
How to choose a thermal imaging attachment
Start with your daytime riflescope, hunting distance, and terrain. A thermal clip-on becomes part of your existing optical system, so compatibility is just as important as thermal performance.
- For forests and shorter distances, prioritize a wide field of view, compact design, and compatibility with lower riflescope magnification.
- For mixed terrain, choose a balance of sensor resolution, thermal sensitivity, field of view, and detection range.
- For open terrain and longer distances, prioritize image detail, longer detection range, and compatibility with higher riflescope magnification.
- For difficult weather, look for lower NETD and sNETD values to maintain image detail when thermal contrast is low.
Always check riflescope and adapter compatibility before choosing a clip-on. Detection range should also be considered together with sensor resolution, thermal sensitivity, magnification, and realistic hunting distances
Why choose a Pulsar thermal imaging attachment
Pulsar thermal imaging attachments are developed and manufactured in Europe for real-world hunting conditions. Our devices are tested in the field by hunters across changing weather, terrain, and demanding hunting scenarios to ensure they perform where specifications alone are not enough.
Built for durability and dependable field use, Pulsar clip-ons combine high-sensitivity thermal imaging with precise optical alignment, recoil-resistant construction, and reliable performance hunt after hunt.
FAQ
No. Compatibility depends on the daytime riflescope, objective lens diameter, magnification range, and mounting adapter. Always check device and adapter compatibility before use.
A properly mounted and aligned thermal clip-on is designed to maintain the riflescope’s established point of impact, allowing it to be attached or removed without re-zeroing.
A thermal clip-on adds thermal capability to an existing daytime riflescope, while a thermal riflescope is a dedicated thermal sighting system.
